PANORAMADA
The natural and the digital collide in the imagery of landscapes – made both by hand and with machine. Incorporating colorful needlework techniques of embroidery, appliqué, and repeating patterns, PANORAMADA is an exhibition of embroidermation - combining both embroidery and animation in a dynamic arrangement of textiles. Embroidermation creates looping, revolving scenes of landscapes nodding towards the history of the panoramic vista.
Installation at the Art Gallery of Alberta's group exhibition Processor: Digital and Analogue Retranslations. Curated by Lindsey Sharman, featuring work by Jackson 2bears, Laura Anzola, Elisabeth Belliveau, Daniel Evans, Brad Necyk, Skawennati, Matthew Waddell and Craig Fahner. Photos by Charles Cousins
